273. Sarah Rosannah Plummer (29) was born on 14 Nov 1879 in Torquay, Tasmania, Australia. She was buried on 3 Nov 1948 in Hobart, Tasmania, Australia.

She was married to Rupert Anstice Rafferty on 30 Jun 1898 in Mersey, Tasmania, Australia. Rupert Anstice Rafferty (29) was christened on 22 Mar 1874 in All Saints, Leighton Buzzard, Bedfordshire, England. He was buried on 30 Apr 1945 in Hobart, Tasmania, Australia.
Came to Tasmania at the age of 7 with his father Joseph Rafferty who had been appointed instructor of the Tasmanian Defence Force. He worked as a clerk in Ellis' store at Ulverstone and the Union Steamship Company. He was a school teacher for a period. Served in the South African War and then resumed teaching. He gained his commission in the 93rd Infantry Regiment (Tas). Went on active service in 1914 with the 12th Battalion and served with distinction at Gallipoli and in France.

Promoted to Captain, and Major, and awarded D.S.O. Twice wounded. Promoted to Lt. Colonel and was appointed C.O. of the 11th Battalion. Twice mentioned in dispatches. With temporary rank of Brigadier-General he was in charge of a training depot at South Veny, in England. Returned to Tasmania and resumed with the Education Department. Later joined the Forestry Department.
