This type of thing is not new to these two, they met, dressed in costume, at the Renaissance Faire in Marin County. Michael and Tiffany were working a both together. As Reva was going for a stroll, much to Michaels surprise, Tiffany said "Hi" to Reva. Michael told Tiffany that he had had a crush on her for a long time and could she introduce them.

Reva took the initiative and offered to watch the both so Tiffany could to lunch.

After only 12 hours of intense conversation, you know how talkative Michael is, they discovered that they had a mutual interest, Hockey.  Their first date was a Sharks game.  Her computer wallpaper is a hockey player.  Now this leads to an one observation; with two people as passive as Reva and Michael, vicariously enjoying a violent sport like Ice Hockey, you can see that all their fights will be left to battles between the Sharks and the Ducks, while they lay on the bed watching it on TV.  However, I am sure with these two, there will be no losers.

Reva has spent years preparing for this event, with her talents, she could have catered the affair, photograph it, sing the wedding song, and baked her own cake. Matter of fact, I think she did.

This is not the first wedding that she participated in, about 20 years ago, my parents decided to renew their vows.  The three granddaughters, Vibeke, Sherry, and as she was then known, Michele, were the bride’s maids. At the reception, they strapped toy guns onto their bride’s maid dresses and proceeded to capture all the bad guys at the wedding.

Reva started cooking at an early age. She can prepare almost everything, as long as it does not contain mushrooms.  She is not a vegetarian; there are too few vegetables that she likes, she would starve to death. She does eat meat, not fish, but it has to be in a form that is not recognizable, as not coming from any know living creature, “mystery meat”. You know, what part of a pig is the pepperoni? Or where do chicken nuggets come from?

Two years ago, Reva, the perpetual student, decided that it was time to take on a new career.  She applied to and was accepted at the California Culinary Academy in San Francisco.  We had just bought and moved into a duplex in Oakland and invited her to stay there while attending school.  Over a period of a month, she and Michael hauled her passions from Marin and LA to Oakland.  Filling the apartment with her Hello Kitty microwave, Hello Kitty waffle iron, Hello Kitty toaster, Hello Kitty phone, and every kitchen utensil know to man.  She even sent me on a trip to her sea container to pickup cookbooks.

She is not a member of the X or the Y generation, she is a member of the TV generation.  Her TV runs 24 hours a day, 7 days a week whether she is at home or not, asleep or awake. Speaking of sleep, she goes to bed early and gets up late; I think that she must average 12 hours of sleep a day.

It was great having her live with us while attending school.  Not only did I get to help her with her homework, scanning and taking pictures, I got to eat her homework.

When the year was over and she graduated, top in her class, she moved out to make room for our next student.  This was when a truly amazing thing happened!  As I mentioned, it took Reva over a month to get all her things into the apartment.  If your know Reva, you know that she is not always neat, but she was able to pack everything in her little car and leave in one weekend.  We were gone that weekend and when we returned, the place looked as it she had never been there. (Except for the large box of shoes she forgot in the closet.)  Then we got the phone call, “We didn’t have enough room take all my things over here, so I left a few boxes in the garage, I hope it is alright and we will come and get them as soon as we have a place of our own.”

Reva does not make decisions easily, she spend a lot of time thinking about a thing before going ahead.  She and Michael have been thinking about this wedding and all the ramifications for a long time.  I know that the two of them will make a good couple, after all where else could you find a sharks fan and ducks fan agreeing on anything.

Good luck to you both and remember, you still have several boxes in my garage.
