Dear Friends
I have always enjoyed receiving those
mimeographed letters with peoples Christmas cards. You know, the ones
where everyone in the family has something to say and you are barely able
to read it. I decided that I would send you one this year. (I hope you
will be able to read this copy.)
I will start by telling what we have
been up to over the last year. After a few years of being various types of
managers for several small computer companies, Chris got tired of the
pressure and hassle. She decided to leave Corona Data Systems in Westlake
Village and work as the Data Base Administrator at Hughes Research Labs in
Malibu.
In the meantime, Earl is still working
for EATON Corporation in Westlake Village as a system manager in charge of
several large computers.
All of this explains the format of this
letter. I find that writing on the computer is faster and far more legible
than if I were to write it by hand.
Vibeke turned thirteen this fall and
entered Junior High School. She immediately became a "typical teenager".
Her main interest is dancing and is presently taking one jazz and two
ballet classes. She entered thirteen slides in the Ventura County Fair
this year and received a ribbon for each, five firsts, judge’s award, and
sweepstakes-WOW!
This last summer the three of us
attended several Olympic events, including the opening ceremony. It was an
experience that will always be remembered. Also last summer, we and two of
Vibeke's cousins went camping in the Western United States. We covered
Nevada, Utah, Montana, Idaho, and California. We stayed in most of the
parks, a varied selection of motels and hotels, and had the usual car
trouble.
Vibeke and Chris are attending as many
rock concerts as their budget will allow, including the great Jackson
Victory Tour. As a family, we still enjoy attending plays, musicals, and
concerts. This coming year, our plan is to travel around the North-Eastern
United States for two weeks in June and July.
Well that's our life in 1984. We would
be happy to hear from you and what you and your family have been doing.
If you are ever out our way, let us
know and maybe we can get together and bore each other over old times. Our
phone(s) are:
(805) 482-5736 and (805) 484-7705 (our
recorder)
Hope to hear from you soon.
