Minutes for March 15, 2001

Location/Time:

Ear's house.  Meeting started at 7:12.  People had some trouble getting there, as Microsoft doesn’t seem to know where my house is.  Also, the directions I sent out went nowhere.

Ruby has a new address and phone number.  It was added to the agenda for everyone.

Member News

Dick saw Rukeyser in Las Vegas.  He predicted the interest lowing.  He says to advices selecting stocks of value.  Dick also noted that a 3 bedroom home in Vegas is $350k.

New Business

Web site has been updated with assignments and schedules.  All old minuets that Earl has written are posted.

Jim looked up Copart (CPRT) in extended value line.  It is in Retail Special Lines sector.  He will be presenting it next month.

Financial Report

Dick handed out a Crash Course in Confident Investing.  It has a good bond section, with good definitions.  The copies were missing some pages, Dick will furnish the missing ones to anyone who wants them.

Portfolio Review:

BMET – John

Biomet is back in court, but no effect on stock.  Still going up, it is in the hold range.

KLAC –  John

Still going up.

CAH – Robert

Robert didn’t show up.  Things look bright and Value Line likes it.

ORCL– Earl

In the buy range, company still good, reporting record earning, but down from what is expected.

We now have 11 shares of Mac Data Corp.  A spin off from EMC.

Stock Study

Earl looked at 7 utilities.  This is a lack luster sector.  There is nothing in the water or electrical power companies that is worth pursuing.
