Minutes Corrections:

Minutes for May were reviewed.  They were amended to correct the spelling from Merrill Sebert to however it is spelled correctly and removed Jeanne’s reporting of CMB.

Treasurer's Report: 

Treasurer's report was presented and reviewed.  We all signed a form so that John could be the official treasurer.

Who will take Lucent?  Both John and Jeanne offered to take, Jeanne let John have it.

Ruby went to Jamaica, rented a villa, and ate.  She really liked the food.

Earl had a tequila party and several members attended.

Krispy Kream will be open a place near here with in 2 years.

Earl and Dick will present ATMEL, SCI, TERADYNE, and TDK.  Earl will be camping, but will give his material to Dick.

Financial Report

Jeanne talked about Buckner.  Buy short-term investments on NASDAQ.  Currently it is very low volume, which means big investors have pulled out.  The M2 money supply – less and less.  Inflation is a minor factor; Greenspan may not do anything in June.

Portfolio Review:

Review of companies followed:

BMET– John
Doing good.  80 new products.  Doing research on glues.   Strong buy –9, moderate buy – 8.  Near the hold range.  John does not recommend that we buy more, but don’t sell!

HP – Sandra for Pipi. 
In the hold range.  There may be benefits from the world wide oil shortage.  May be fully valued, a source of cash

ORCL – Earl
Still going strong, near years high.  In hold range, so we should hold.

Industry’s To Study

Robert and Sandra
Adaptec – Robert. In buy range, expected to grow 200% in the next year.  Value line likes it.

APC – Sandra.  Continue watching.  High relative value (Comparison of PE to last 5 years.)

Cisco – In the hold range.  Lots of cash, good cash flow.  They are buying companies to keep up with their competition.  Watch it

Watch List

There was a lot of discussion about a watch list.  We keep saying we will watch things and then nothing is watched.  May be a committee is the best approach.  The committee would have power to buy if the stock meets certain criteria.  We might also put stock on a buy order if it falls to a certain point.

The committee should be composed of the Treasurer and two people with conflicting views. Sandra will but this on next month’s agenda for discussion.

XLS - I have a note that says XLS – Ruby, Dick, and Robert, but I don’t have a clue as to what I put it down for.
